The Himachal Pradesh Electricity Regulatory Commission (HPERC) on August 19, 2026, issued the Himachal Pradesh Electricity Regulatory Commission (Rooftop Solar PV Grid Interactive System) (Fourth Amendment) Regulations, 2026, further to amend the Himachal Pradesh Electricity Regulatory Commission (Rooftop Solar PV Grid Interactive System) Regulations, 2015.
It has amended Regulation 7 to facilitate digital processing of rooftop solar applications. Eligible consumers may now submit applications for installation and grid connection of rooftop solar PV systems online, through e-mail, post or by hand, using the prescribed Form-1 or any format specified through the Central/State Government’s online portal. Distribution Licensees are required to make Form-1 available on their websites and at authorised offices and, as far as possible, process all applications through a web-based system. Even applications received physically must be uploaded by the Distribution Licensee for online processing. The amendment also permits digital Solar Metering Connection Agreements forming part of the online application process and available through the relevant government portal.
