The Punjab Pollution Control Board (PPCB) on August 04, 2026, issued a notification regarding Harmonization of classification of left-out sectors under Red, Orange and Green category.
The following has been stated: -
•CPCB has directed classification of Hotels/Motels/Resorts, Restaurants/Dhabas/Eateries, and Standalone Banquet/Marriage Halls based on Pollution Index, for adoption and implementation.
•Accordingly, PPCB’s earlier classification of Marriage Palaces and Restaurants/Dhabas/Eateries is omitted and replaced by the CPCB classification dated July 20, 2026.
