The Government of Maharashtra on August 18, 2026, issued the Maharashtra Land Revenue Code (Amendment) Ordinance, 2026, to amend the Maharashtra Land Revenue Code, 1966.
The following has been stated: -
•It modifies Section 48, sub-section (7) of the Maharashtra Land Revenue Code, 1966.
•The penalty clause for minerals is changed from "five times the market value of minerals" to "ten times the royalty payable for minerals".
The amendment comes into force immediately across the state.
